Our Process


01.


Booking


After you express interest and we discuss the finer details of your session, we will determine the location/time that fits your needs and get you on the calendar. No deposit is needed for regular sessions unless we are renting a space, in which case you will be responsible for paying any rental fees for the location. If a mini session is held at a location I have to rent, the session price will fluctuate accordingly.



02.


Shooting


It's the day of your session, yay! I aim to get on location roughly 15 minutes or so before your session will begin so I can scout any potentially dangerous/not-so-pretty areas of the site and determine the best lighting at that time. We'll conduct the session according to how much time you booked, and we'll do our best to have a great time while we capture your family.



03.


Editing


After your session, don't worry because the rest is on me! It takes roughly 2-3 weeks to edit a regular, full session. Mini sessions typically take place around the holidays so I try to get those back quicker so you can order cards, etc. Weddings and events can take 4-6 weeks to edit depending on how long the event was, since there are a lot more pictures to go through and process.

Delivering


Your full or mini session gallery will be delivered via an online gallery. You will be given instructions on entering the gallery and downloading your photos. Additionally, you can opt to purchase prints from our professional lab directly through your gallery, or you can take your digital copies and send them to be printed at any other facility. *Keep in mind, we cannot guarantee the quality of your prints if you print through another source. Wedding galleries are delivered via a custom USB.


FAQ

How many pictures will we receive?

Mini sessions include roughly 10-15 photos, while full sessions include 30+ images. This is a rough estimate of course. Wedding and event galleries typically include 60 images per hour of shooting.

What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?

Newborn sessions should be held within the first 4 weeks of life, but ideally within the first 2. We can still take your baby's pictures after this timeframe, but keep in mind you likely won't get those super sleepy, flexible poses. We can absolutely still try!

What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate?

If the weather doesn’t allow for an outdoor session, we’ll reschedule to a mutually convenient date or discuss alternate indoor locations.

How can I book my session?

Please send me either an email at ohsnapphotos@yahoo.com, message on Instagram (courtneyelizabethphotos), or a message on Facebook (Courtney Elizabeth Photography + Design). We can always audio call through Facebook messenger, or I will give you my phone number, once we've made contact if we need to discuss details via the phone. No deposit will be required except for designs and commissions, weddings, events, or sessions at a location requiring a rental fee.

How should we dress for our family session?

PLEASE coordinate your outfits but don't match! Matching outfits make the photos one-dimensional. I suggest choosing a patterned shirt or dress for one member of your family, and then picking colors from that pattern and mixing it up amongst the other outfits. If you need help, just let me know and we can definitely bounce ideas around!

We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?

Absolutely! Trust me I know the feeling, which is why I stay behind the camera! If you and your family are camera shy, we will try to break the ice and do some fun interactions during your session. If you think you're really not into the poses because they feel too awkward, let's talk about doing a lifestyle session instead - you can pick a fun activity for your family to do, and I'll tag along to capture the candid moments you have together.

Can I bring other props or my pets?

Yes, please do! Props and pets can add a personal touch to your photos. Just let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly. We also advise to book a full session, not a mini, if you're bringing along any pets because as much as you love them and think they're well-behaved, the addition of pets to photos takes extra time to get the right shots.
